Swank Building (1st Summit Bank)

Johnstown, PA  The site of the former Swank Building will soon be 1st Summit Bank’s new downtown office. The company is planning to construct a 3,400-square-foot office at the site, complete with parking and drive-through banking services. The City took the lead in demolishing the Swank Building, which had become an eyesore after years of neglect. There were hopes that the historic structure could be saved, but that was not possible. The new 1st Summit office is another exciting step in the process of reviving the upper Main Street section of downtown.
