Flood City Brass & Electric
Johnstown, PA
The Flood City Brass & Electric building had a long history of industrial use, dating back to the turn of the century. The building was originally home to a foundry operation, and then was used for electrical and motor repairs. However, the site became vacant in the 1980’s and was deteriorating and a blighted influence on the community. The Johnstown Redevelopment Authority acquired the property to transform the building into a viable development site. The property is strategically located in the Hornerstown Industrial Park (zoned M-1, with all utilities on site & direct access rail transportation & to State Routes 56 & 403). The Redevelopment Authority completed environmental cleanup activities and secured a Release of Liability under the PA Act 2 Program. This release certifies that the site has been cleaned up to specified environmental standards, and that future owners or tenants are not responsible for pollution that occurred prior to issuance of the Release.
The Flood City Brass & Electric property is part of a state certified Keystone Opportunity Zone, with state and local tax relief for a period of ten years. The property is also a part of the City’s Enterprise Zone.
Bambino Construction purchased the property from the Redevelopment Authority, and will create 5 new jobs with their construction business. |
